Partner, Solicitor and Head of Corporate and Commercial Law
Emily leads the corporate and commercial team at Loch.
She works with owner-managed businesses, helping them realise their potential and supporting them through growth and change. Emily advises on a range of corporate matters, including acquisitions and disposals, from straightforward transactions to complex multi-million pound deals, as well as reorganisations, share restructures, shareholder agreements and general corporate advice.
On the commercial side, Emily advises on terms and conditions and general commercial contracts, with a particular focus on indemnities and limitations of liability.
With 14 years' experience as a solicitor within corporate and commercial law, Emily previously headed up the legal business within a top 10 accountancy firm. This experience means she understands the importance of bridging the gap between advisers and taking a joined-up, collaborative approach, something her clients regularly value. Emily takes a practical, client-focused approach. She works closely with her clients as part of their wider team, focusing on clear advice and the right outcomes.
Emily holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from BPP London and an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Kent. She qualified as a solicitor in 2012.
Outside of work, Emily is an avid Sunderland fan and enjoys spending time with her Boston Terrier, Kevin, named after Kevin Phillips.
