Recruitment and Team Development Insights Through Psychometric Tests

Loch’s HR specialists can provide a variety of psychometric assessments during the recruitment process, assisting with a range of personality and aptitude evaluations. The results can provide valuable insights for decision makers to help them choose the right person for the job, cross-referencing the job requirements with the mental and emotional capacity of the candidate.

The data collected from psychometric testing can be used to tailor your incentive schemes, refine recruitment processes and even restructure your training and development programmes, all ensuring that you consistently get the best from your employees.

Psychometric testing involves the candidate completing a competency-based assessment online. Upon completion of the assessment a development report is produced. Our HR consultants will provide additional commentary, alongside the report, all of which will be provided to you to help decide if the candidate is the right fit for the role.

Our HR consultants will work with you to create a personalised psychometric testing assessment, covering elements like these to ensure that the competencies and type of report are relevant for the job role.

  • Goal seeking
  • Interpersonal
  • Strategy
  • Organisation
  • Enterprise

We will send the assessment link to the candidate to complete, the assessment should take no longer than 20 minutes for the candidate to complete. Once the assessment has been completed a report will be generated, the report provides a comprehensive picture of the candidate’s personality and also considers the implications of their profile for the aptitudes and competencies at work. There are two key parts to the report, Part One will show the candidate’s personality profile, with Part Two showing the candidate’s competency profile.

Part One is based on a psychometric interpretation of the responses to the online personality questionnaire. This personality measure focuses on the distinctive and consistent characteristics that make the candidate recognisable as the person they are. From a career development perspective, it is important to realise that personality has a major influence on, what we can do well and what we struggle to do with any degree of consistency.

Part Two reflects the way that a candidate’s personality plays out in terms of the varied demands of the workplace. In this section of your report, the personality described in Part One is converted in a series of competency ratings. These ratings indicate the extent to which the combination of personality characteristics would be an advantage or a disadvantage in relation to each of the job competencies discussed.

Our HR team will use these two parts of the report to provide a comprehensive summary of the candidate’s suitability for the role.
