Service Overview

Domestic abuse can take many forms. Physical, emotional, psychological, or financial. Its impact can be devastating, and many victims don’t realise they have legal options available to them. If you’re facing threatening, violent, or controlling behaviour at home or from someone you know, legal protection is available. A protective order can offer immediate safety and set legal boundaries that prevent further harm. There are different types of protect orders, the most coming being non-molestation and restraining orders. They can prevent contact, restrict access to the home, and provide a measure of control and safety in what can be a distressing time.

Many people are unsure whether their situation “qualifies” as abuse or if the law will take their concerns seriously. At Loch, we understand how hard it is to take the first step. We believe that no one should have to navigate this alone and legal protection isn’t just about paperwork; it’s about reclaiming control and ensuring your safety and wellbeing.

The process of applying for a protective order can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re still in the same household or worried about retaliation. That’s where we come in. Loch provides expert legal guidance, practical support, and swift action. We’ll help you gather evidence, complete the application, represent you in court if necessary, and work discreetly to protect your privacy.

We understand that every situation is different. Some clients reach out after a single incident; others have been enduring control for years. Whatever your story, we listen without judgment and act without delay. You don’t need to suffer in silence or figure it all out alone – legal protection is your right, and we’re here to help you use it.

How Loch
Delivers This Service

At Loch, we believe legal protection should be accessible and fast when you’re at risk. We treat every domestic abuse case with sensitivity and discretion, ensuring you never feel judged or rushed. Our lawyers work with you to understand the full picture, your emotional and personal circumstance, not just the legal facts.

What sets us apart is our personal approach and specialist expertise. We speak in plain language, whether it’s how the court process works, what evidence is needed, how to respond to breaches of an order or what other support systems are available. We keep you updated at every step and always let you set the pace.

Where appropriate, we act urgently to apply for emergency protective orders (such as Occupation Orders or Non-Molestation Orders). Our goal is to protect your legal rights and personal dignity at every stage.

From your first call to final court order and beyond, we offer clarity, compassion, and a plan. We help you make informed decisions about your future, not just reactive steps. Whether you need a single protective order or ongoing legal support through divorce or child arrangements, we’re in your corner.

Key Elements

Abuse isn’t just physical. It includes controlling behaviour, verbal threats, emotional manipulation, stalking, and financial control. Proof isn’t always a police report. Your statement, messages, witness accounts, or patterns of behaviour can all help build your case.

A Non-Molestation Order is a type of injunction that can stop your abuser from threatening, harassing, or contacting you. It’s legally enforceable and breaching it is a criminal offence.

Once granted, the order is legally enforceable. Breaches can result in arrest or criminal charges. We’ll guide you on what to do if a breach occurs, and we can stay involved to ensure ongoing legal and emotional support.
